Dear Chasing Rainbows Partner,

Imagine being confined to the walls of a cold, sterile hospital.  You are surrounded by strangers in white coats, that are talking about you, and you have no idea why.  People come into your space to poke, prod and look you over constantly.  Then imagine someone else walks in—they are not there to touch you or hurt you or talk about you.  They are there to give you something special—a toy, a book, a new stuffed animal to make your stay a little more comfortable.  In return, they want nothing more than your smile, or maybe even a little giggle of excitement.  That is the mission of Kemarah’s Chasing Rainbows—to bring Hope and Smiles to kids and families that are experiencing a medical crisis.  We strive to make a child’s stay in the hospital a little less scary, and a little more cheerful.  Since you cannot see their faces, I am writing to let you know how truly wonderful it is to see those smiles and hear those giggles and also to thank you for partnering with us in the past.  Your support has helped so much, but the need is still great.

Each year we help hundreds of families through our hospital outreach programs in Houston and El Paso.  We support families through a scholarship program at a local El Paso Private school, and we are even able to provide a temporary housing solution (our Happy Heart House) for families receiving treatment through the Heart Center at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.  We also partner annually with the North Texas chapter of Make-a-Wish to grant the wish of a local Wish Kid in the El Paso area.  Without donations like yours, Kemarah’s Chasing Rainbows cannot operate in all these areas.  We are hoping to raise $25,000 to continue blessing these families through our hospital, school, and housing programs.  This is the amount we typically raise at our annual fundraising gala.
